ARTIST STATEMENT My perception of the interior and exterior of the world forms the basis of my painterly work. Driven by an endless curiosity to create ever-new, colorful imagery, the canvas is presented in different positions and processed in many superimposed layers from all sides – sometimes with gestural brushstrokes here, another time in large set areas there. Forms, surfaces, and structures with organic or amorphous suggestions arise. Personal pictorial space is created, often preceded by a very long working process. I consciously refrain from finding a title for my work because that would limit me too much. This approach is always a personal challenge, marked by questioning and reflection.
