allow let in let go let be to be NOW… to be continued! My paintings create a space without owning it. Painting means creating spaces; my paintings give people space. Sometimes you get your space back, sometimes you are given a new space. My paintings invite you to feel and lead you into a pleasant concentration. Unagitated like in a meditation. Sometimes you find breaks in them, they are part of life… and when you step back and look at the picture from a distance, the fractures disappear and you see the whole. Material: Much of what ends up on my canvases usually ends up in the trash: ashes, coffee grounds, feathers, etc. I am particularly fascinated by ash. I collect it in large jars and sort it by color and origin. Hence, ASH and ART—or quite provocatively, TRASH (useless material). With TRASH, I am proving that art can be created where you wouldn’t expect it.
